Latest Updates from Our Project:

Q&A #5 & Approaching 250 Backers!!
11 months ago – Mon, Apr 14, 2025 at 12:53:03 PM

Q&A #5 Scheduled!

We've scheduled the first Q&A that is running during our Backerkit campaign! And with so many new eyes on the game, we are sure there are also plenty of questions that are floating around! So come join us on April 24th, at 5:00 PM Pacific Time (UTC -7) either on our Backerkit page or directly on our YouTube Stream!

Nearing 250 Backers!!

Our achievement to hit 250 Backers is almost unlocked! You can see the progress in the attached Achievement. Once we unlock this Achievement we will plan and schedule the first Indominant Community Event (the event which will be determined by the Poll attached to this update!).

We are so close and are super excited to see which event the community decides for us to run!

Community Event Poll & Homebrew Discord Channel!
11 months ago – Fri, Apr 11, 2025 at 12:46:52 PM

Today, we wanted to share a few things with you and ask you a question (in the linked poll).

A Place to Call Homebrew

First, we wanted to announce that we’ve created a channel in our Discord server for your Indominant homebrew to be shared and discussed! We’ve already had one community member create their very own homebrew Powerset: Time Manipulation! They have already gone and created everything up to Level 5, meaning they have an Inherent Effect, Base to Tier 3 Powers, and Tier 1-2 Talents for all 5 Archetypes!!!!! We are blown away at this idea and would love for people to see it and give them some love. Join our Discord server to check out the homebrew and even share your own!

Community Event Poll

Now for another exciting bit of news… we want to run a community event with everyone, and better yet, we want your ideas for what the community event should be! This is taking the place of our Community Event Stream reward for when we hit the 250 Backers Achievement! We are updating that Achievement to reflect this change of plans.

But what will that community event be? Well, we want your input! We’ve linked a poll to this update that has 3 options:

#1 - Character Concept Challenge
This is a challenge that we previously ran when our community was a lot smaller, and we had to put it on hold until we grew our active community (which this Backerkit campaign has done!). The idea behind this challenge is that participants submit a story and build for a character concept of their own making, and once submissions close, we will create a series of knock-out votes to determine a winner, with 2nd and 3rd place rewards too!

What does the winner get? Well, if we fully fund, the winner will get a full body, full-color image of their character concept drawn by Milton Aguiar, paid for by our team here at Odin’s Key Gaming!

#2 - Team Player Versus Player Tournament
For this one, it is quite simple. Participants would create a team of 2-3 players (we haven’t decided team size yet) and compete in combat against other teams. We would set up brackets and stream the combats, with the final Team getting a reward (reward is TBD).

#3 - Other
For this option on the vote, you would need to comment what your alternate idea is, and if any of these ideas gets more upvotes than option 1 or 2, we would go with this option.

Day 2 Complete!
11 months ago – Thu, Apr 10, 2025 at 08:25:16 AM

Thank you for the amazing support!

Yesterday we passed over $10,000 in pledge amounts, and over 200 Backers!! Today we are already over $11,000 and 215 Backers too! The support is amazing, and we thank you all so much!

We are planning some very fun community events and have now posted an Achievement to reach 250 Backers! Once we hit that Achievement Ricky and Zarek will go live for a fun community stream! We’ve started asking folks in Discord what they would like for us to do during that stream, and now we’d love to ask anyone that is not in Discord to comment on this update with their ideas for the First Community Stream event!

Character Sheet for Primer 2.1

We have the updated Character Sheet, including a Form Fill version! Which you can download here!

Speaking of the Primer 2.1, we were notified of a few spots where we didn't update the version number, so that has been fixed! We also adjusted the language on the Martial Arts Inherent Effect so that it is clear that spending 5 Ki does not immediately remove the benefits and make you Exhausted. Just re-download the same document, with the same link (pasted again below for all Followers to see). Any further changes will be captured in a future revision with a new number.

Which Powerset is Your Favorite Poll

We’ve also linked the Poll for you to choose which Powerset is your favorite!

Day 1 Recap! Primer V2.1 Update! & Another Architect Slot?!
11 months ago – Wed, Apr 09, 2025 at 08:51:52 AM

Day 1 Recap - Thank You!!

Wow, what a first day! The first 24 hours are nearing completion and we are over 63% funded! As a small team with a relatively small following we are so excited at the response we’ve had! Make sure to check out the below updates too, you won’t want to miss them.

We can’t thank all of you, our supporters, enough! Thank you to everyone that pledged, and those of you that are checking out the Primer and joining our Discord server!

Primer V 2.1 Update

Just before, and during our launch we have been working on a small update to the Game System Primer 2.0.

The only rules/mechanical change is that instead of having to choose 2 of the 4 available Base Power options, every character now automatically gets all 4 Base Powers for their Powerset! We made this change because selecting Base Powers could be quite a difficult decision at times, and we don’t think the pros of that choice being meaningful outweigh the cons of it being a choice that doesn’t feel like it has a “right answer”.

Other than that there was just some small wording clean-up and clarifications to some areas that got questioned somewhat regularly.

So that means we’ve included the updated Primer below (all you need to do to download it is follow our Backerkit page, subscribe to our Newsletter, or join our Discord server here)! This also comes with a new character sheet (coming soon) to give you the space you need to add those 2 extra Base Powers to your sheet!

Another Architect Pledge Level Opening?!?

Yes, that’s right, as of the time we send out this update, we’ve also decided to open up the Architect Pledge Level to 1 additional Backer! That means one more person will get to work with us to create their very own Powerset concept, to be added in our first expansion book!

Q&A #4 Delayed & Archetype Poll
12 months ago – Thu, Mar 27, 2025 at 12:33:24 PM

Sorry for the short notice, but due to some personal life circumstances that came up, we have to reschedule Q&A #4 to next week, Thursday April 3rd at 5:00 PM Pacific time. We are sorry!

With only 12 days left until launch, we have some exciting final teasers for you next week!

Archetype Poll

We posted this new poll to see what everyone's favorite Archetype in Indominant is. You can check out the game system Primer (subscribe to our newsletter on odinskey.com, or check out our first update to download your free PDF!) to find out more about each Archetype, or read below for a short description of each below! We'd also love to hear your reasons for why you chose that Archetype, and what ideas you might have for your very first Indominant Super to be played!

Remember, in Indominant your backstory and source of powers are separate from your Archetype, and you have a lot of narrative control over those elements of your character too.

Arbiter: The ranged support archetype. Arbiters are masters of protecting their allies while hindering their enemies ability to move and attack, or even making them easier to take down.

Blaster: The ranged damage dealing archetype. Blasters are almost entirely focused on dealing as much damage to their enemies as possible, and generally put their own defense and safety on the back-burner, relying on their allies to protect them and pin down their enemies so that they can finish them off.

Bruiser: The tough melee archetype. Bruisers are apt at getting in the mix of combat, receiving blows and dishing out even more potent ones themselves. Bruisers are also very capable at controlling their enemies, as long as they can get close.

Guardian: The supportive tank archetype. Guardians are the front line of their teams. They generally prove to be great leaders, and have their teammates’ backs at all times. They tend to do whatever they can to make themselves the prime target of their enemies and keep them at bay.

Hunter: The dextrous, sneaky, fighter that has a mixture of ranged and melee capabilities. Hunters are the most mobile combatants found in the universe, they are capable of wading into and out of the fray, and are capable at both melee and ranged combat. Hunters work best when they let their allies start things off and sneak into their enemies blind spot, catching them in their most vulnerable state.
